Poet Dakota Williams Literary Arts Biography

Poet Dakota Williams Literary Arts Biography July 17, 2013 at 3:21pm Born and raised in Texas, Dakota Williams began writing poetry and songs at around the age of 17, her passion for writing and greatest reward in writing is that it may inspire ones life and bring them feelings of joy, peace , love , happiness and new found feelings of hope in their heart and perhaps even closure toward sad feelings of emotions they may be feeling in their life and to enjoy all things that are beautiful to us through memories no matter how painful those feelings may be when within our life we encounter life changing events in the loss of love and life of someone dear to us, and this is what she brings to her poetry as her publisher stated after reviewing her work for publication: “Immerse in soothing poetry in a collection of works by a published poet. Dakota Williams strings words into poems and the result is a delightful poetry selection entitled Poetic Risings. Reading through the poems is akin to being invited into a journey to pleasant nature scenery and being allowed to get into the heart of the poet. She tells us about summertime, caressing wind, towering mountains, and raging seas and monarch butterflies, all part of nature’s enchanting beauty. Her words shimmer as leaves kissed by a peeping sun. The poems are always soothing, like the gentle kiss of late-afternoon breeze or the soft hums of a mother’s lullabies. Even when she tells us about life-altering loss, of pain, of unfulfilled and broken love, and of death, there always pervades in her poems a sense of calm and silent acceptance of the hard blows of life. In “Untamed,” for instance, “. . . memories with wondering pain, a soft, calloused heart words shimmer, yet, I beckon love again, without reason or rhyme . . .” One senses a deep appreciation for the totality of life, everything about and in it whether it brings laughter or tears.” Dakota Williams has previously published a book of poems entitled Poetic Walls of Green and is also a lyricists.
